Tomorrow, Apalachicola fills up.
The 63rd Annual Florida Seafood Festival kicks off Friday at Battery Park, and it's free to get in on Friday. If you only catch one thing all weekend, make it the Blessing of the Fleet at 4 p.m. King Retsyo and Miss Florida Seafood arrive right after, and the Ashley Morgan Band takes the stage at 8.
Saturday starts early with the Redfish Run at 8 and the parade down Highway 98 at 10. The Oyster Shucking Contest is at 1, the eating contest follows at 1:15, and Kaleb Austin closes out the night at 8:30. Saturday admission is $10, and kids under 12 get in free.
One heads up before you load up the truck: pets aren't allowed inside the festival, except service animals.
The full schedule, plus a few tips for making a weekend of it, is in the first comment below.
See y'all at Battery Park.
