As your realtor, I’m reminding future and current homeowners: Vote YES on Amendment 3.

High property taxes in Florida can make homeownership harder to afford. Lenders count property taxes when calculating a buyer’s debt-to-income ratio, so a higher tax bill can push an otherwise qualified buyer beyond lending limits. That can leave families paying mortgage-sized rents without building equity.

Property-tax affordability affects more than current homeowners—it also affects who gets the opportunity to become one. Amendment 3 could help make homeownership more attainable for Florida families.
