We provide financing and real estate products to businesses, nonprofits, and developers in all neighborhoods of Philadelphia. PIDC is a nonprofit organization founded by the City of Philadelphia and the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia in 1958. MISSION & VALUES

We're still buzzing from such an incredible MED Week! The City of Philadelphia Government’s Office of Economic Opportunity hosted the 42nd annual MED Week from October 5th through October 9th, partnering with economic development organizations across the city. This year’s theme was “Advancing Economic Opportunity for All.”

Last week, The Navy Yard dedicated Chapel Plaza in honor of the late Walter D’Alessio, the long-time board chair and former chief executive of PIDC who passed in 2024 at age 90. D’Alessio served with PIDC for 44 years, including 34 years as chairman of its board.

Throughout his career, he played a role in some of Philadelphia’s most significant development and revitalization efforts, including the transformation of Society Hill, the development of Independence Mall, and projects across neighborhoods throughout the city.

We were proud to host family, community partners, stakeholders, elected officials, and members of the Navy Yard for the dedication ceremony, celebrating D’Alessio’s life and legacy and his decades of contributions to Philadelphia. Read more⬇️
