Rural communities may be small, but our challenges, opportunities, and potential are anything but.
Yesterday , I had the opportunity to represent Lafayette County through the North Florida Economic Development Partnership at a roundtable discussion with Congresswoman Kat Cammack.
We had an open conversation about economic development, the roadblocks facing our rural counties, gaps in resources, and how we can better support the long-term needs of our rural communities.
I appreciate Congresswoman Cammack taking the time to listen to those of us working directly in our rural communities. Her work supporting Floridaās farmers and agricultural producers, advocating for rural healthcare, and addressing infrastructure and workforce development needs touches so many issues that are critical to North Floridaās future.
Economic development looks different in rural communities. Our challenges with infrastructure, funding, workforce availability, and access to resources are real, but so is our potential.
Our rural counties deserve a seat at the table, not just a mention in the conversation.
Thank you, Congresswoman Cammack, for providing an opportunity for meaningful dialogue and recognizing the importance of our rural communities.
Iām grateful to have had a voice in todayās conversation and even more grateful for the opportunity to continue advocating for Lafayette County and rural North Florida. š
