💜 A SUCCESSFUL DAY OF COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS, OUTREACH & OPPORTUNITY! 💜
Today was an exciting milestone for Royce & Roots Legacy Development Group as we hosted our first CHW Career & Workforce Connections Event!
Our mission was simple: Bring awareness to the vital role of Community Health Workers (CHWs), connect individuals with career opportunities, engage businesses interested in hiring CHWs, and identify organizations willing to serve as field experience locations.
And today, we made some wonderful connections! 🙌🏽
🌟 Here are a few highlights from today's event:
✅ 2 Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), 1 Dietitian, and 1 Intake Specialist expressed interest in exploring careers as Community Health Workers.
✅ 1 church expressed interest in sharing CHW career and community resource information with its congregation.
✅ 2 businesses expressed interest in CHW-related opportunities, including one interested in hosting Medicaid redetermination outreach tables.
✅ Another business reached out requesting Medicaid redetermination assistance for its clients.
These connections represent more than numbers. They represent new partnerships, career pathways, expanded access to healthcare resources, and opportunities to strengthen the communities we serve.
👏🏽 A special thank-you to Illinois Central College (ICC) and Leah Sutherland Grebner for joining us and providing valuable one-on-one guidance to individuals interested in becoming CHWs and preparing for the next CHW training cohort.
We are grateful to everyone who attended, asked questions, shared information, and expressed interest in becoming part of this growing workforce.
