🏡 WiscoREIA Janesville October Meeting Recap!

Our October meeting in Janesville was filled with valuable insights, real-world experiences, and even a little Halloween horror!

🎤 Our main speaker, Ryan Leonard, shared practical strategies for improving leasing, maximizing rental income, reducing vacancies, and making smarter property management decisions. He also walked us through the turnaround of a 16-unit Milwaukee property, showing how effective leasing strategies can make a big difference!

🏚️ We also had a special case study from Casey, who shared the story of his very first real estate deal, which turned into quite the horror story! It tied in perfectly with our October Halloween Horror Stories theme across WiscoREIA.

👻 We had a spooky good time at last night’s WiscoREIA Racine-Kenosha meeting!

Our hosts, Ken Collins and Ray Thorsen, took the spotlight to share real estate horror stories from their years of investing. From unexpected challenges to costly lessons, they reminded us that not every deal goes according to plan! 😱

Maybe their stories were a little too scary, because we had a smaller turnout than usual! 😂 But that didn't stop us from enjoying an evening filled with valuable insights, great conversations, and plenty of laughs.

Sometimes, the best lessons in real estate come from the deals that haunt us the most! 🏠💀

Another Great Night at Madison WiscoREIA!

Even with the Brewers playing their second game of the series last night and ultimately pulling off a win while we were meeting, we still had a solid turnout in Madison for Keith and Jay!

We kicked things off with longtime member Keith McHugh, who shared a fascinating real estate case study about managing an inherited property from over 1,300 miles away. Keith walked us through some of the challenges, decisions and lessons learned when dealing with an estate and a property long distance. This is great information because it's something any of us could find ourselves dealing with someday.

Then we welcomed back Attorney Jay Koritzinsky, who has been educating Madison area landlords and real estate investors for many years. Jay shared some great updates on Wisconsin landlord and tenant laws, recent court cases, tenant screening, security deposits, evictions and more.

As always, Jay delivered a ton of valuable information to help us stay informed and protect our investments.

Great turnout, great energy and another great night of learning and networking!

Another great night at WiscoREIA Green Bay! 🏠📈

Last night’s meeting took a different turn than originally planned, but it turned into a fantastic Deal & Dilemma Workshop led by our Green Bay hosts, Jennie Buah and Ashley Phillips!

Attendees brought real deals, challenges, and questions to the room and tapped into the collective experience of fellow investors and industry professionals. From analyzing deals and overcoming roadblocks to discussing marketing, lead generation, and investing strategies, there was plenty of great conversation and actionable advice shared throughout the evening.

A huge thank you to Jennie and Ashley for stepping up and leading such an interactive and valuable discussion!

Christina covered how to market mid-term rentals, the pros and cons of the strategy, how they compare to short-term rentals, and practical tips for setting up and managing them successfully.

Another great night with WiscoREIA Wausau! 🏠📈

Last night, Jake Strassburger and Jeremy Dobson took us behind the scenes of two real-world case studies, sharing the wins, challenges, and lessons learned along the way.

Jake broke down a multi-property portfolio deal, including how he combined creative and traditional financing to get the deal done and navigate the obstacles along the way.

Our WiscoREIA Madison End of Summer Picnic was a great way to wrap up the summer! We had 32 people at the peak, plenty of good conversations, new connections, and a whole lot of fun along the way.
