A home's electrical grounding system provides a path for electrical fault current and helps protect against dangerous voltage buildup, electrical shock, and fire hazards.

Grounding conductors must be properly sized, made from approved conductive materials, and securely connected to ensure the system functions as intended.

Improper materials, undersized wiring, or poor connections can compromise electrical safety and prevent protective devices from operating correctly when a fault occurs.
Proper grounding is an essential part of a safe electrical system!

For youngsters who don't understand this. Back before your telephone had a 10-digit number starting with a 3-digit area code, your call would go to an operator and they would connect you to the correct area's exchange line, where they would direct your call to the number you wanted.

This panel is likely 70+ years old based on when this electrician put it in, and when area codes were rolled out here.

Your trees shouldn't be in contact with your service entrance lines, because it can cause the wires to come into contact and ground out the line. It can cause damage to your home electrical system and is a safety hazard.

Keep your trees trimmed!

If you're thinking about double tapping the service entrance cables to run a plug a few rooms away. Don't do that.

Attic ventilation isn’t “more is better.” A common guideline is 1 sq. ft. of net free ventilation for every 300 sq. ft. of attic space (1:300), or 1:150 in some applications—ideally balanced between intake and exhaust.

Proper ventilation is about balance, not quantity.

I don't like bats, and I don't love finding them in houses either. Shout-out to the pest folks who happened to be on site for a termite inspection when I found this little homie and made sure he got out safe.
