Steven Kirkpatrick Esq. recently represented a Manhattan building owner and its managing agent in Rodriguez v. 605 West 42nd Owner, LLC, in which the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York dismissed the tenant’s federal Fair Housing Act claims. The decision was recently featured in the New York Law Journal.

The ruling highlights key considerations in fair housing litigation, including prior litigation, statutes of limitations, and the importance of establishing a connection between alleged conduct and discrimination. It also underscores the broader protections and longer statute of limitations available under the New York City Human Rights Law.

Carmen I. Pagán, Esq. and Darian Salazar, Esq. represented a prominent lender in the origination and closing of a two-loan Fannie Mae refinance transaction totaling $40.8 million.

The financing was secured by two multifamily properties in Norfolk County and Middlesex County, Massachusetts, comprising a total of 221 units.

This multi-asset transaction involved a renowned, multi-layered sponsorship group and required comprehensive legal review to ensure compliance with Fannie Mae guidelines and eligibility requirements related to the ownership structure.

Romer Debbas, LLP’s Commercial Lending Group recently represented a prominent regional lender in connection with the closing of a $4,100,000 first mortgage loan secured by a three-story mixed-use property in Greenwich, Connecticut.

The property includes one retail unit, one office unit, and two residential apartment units.
