Living along the Grand Strand means enjoying so much of what makes coastal life special, but it also means knowing how to prepare when Mother Nature has other plans. 🌊🏡
A strong El Niño can shift weather patterns and increase the possibility of heavier rain and flash flooding in some areas. For homeowners here in the Myrtle Beach area, I believe the best approach is to be prepared, not panicked.
A few simple things can make a difference:
• Know your flood zone
• Review your flood insurance coverage before you need it
• Keep gutters, downspouts, and drainage areas clear
• Have a basic storm plan in place
When you own a home near the coast, there is more to think about than the home itself. Flood zones, insurance, weather, and location can all be important pieces of the bigger picture.
I've called the Myrtle Beach area home for 30 years, and helping people understand the realities of coastal homeownership is just as important to me as helping them find a home they love.
If you have questions about how flood zones, insurance considerations, or coastal conditions could factor into your real estate decisions, I'm always happy to help. 🤍
