Thoroughly enjoyed hearing News on 6’s own Lori Fullbright speak during last week’s Women in Business Luncheon put on by the Wagoner Area Chamber of Commerce!

Lori has interviewed hundreds, if not thousands, of people throughout her career, spanning both victims and criminals. She shared a few nuggets that I’ll be sure to remember:

1. Don’t get stuck in stupid
2. Don’t be flattened by the unexpected
3. Put one foot in front of the other and ask others for their stories!

And my personal favorite: don’t be a camel spider.

Lori told a story about how during a trip to Jordan, she noticed a spider was following along in her shadow trying to stay out of the sun. The message she took away: Don’t follow people—create your own lane and walk there.

REPS is a nonprofit group made up of title companies, realtors, and lenders with a fantastic mission of raising money for scholarships awarded to high school students. This upcoming March 5th, 2027 we will be putting on an all-you-can-eat bean dinner at The Shrine Hall in Muskogee to support the cause.

As the holiday season approaches, we’re also focused on families in need. Treasure McKenzie, who spoke at our gathering earlier this week, will be providing names for 10 complete Thanksgiving baskets to be given out to families in need as part of her community initiative, Bridges Out of Poverty.

Shoutout to Arvest Bank for providing everyone with lunch for the day!
