Everybody's waiting for spring. The market isn't. 🏠

Buyers are waiting. Sellers are waiting. The October numbers — just out today — show what all that waiting is doing:

• Homes for sale nationally are UP 7.4% — because listed homes are sitting
• Median list price is DOWN 2.2% — the 12th straight month of declines
• 1 in 5 sellers cut their price in October
• Metro Milwaukee: inventory up 8.8%, homes sitting 6 days longer than last year
• Florida twist: Naples' inventory piled up last winter and has been clearing ever since (supply down from 7.8 to 5.5 months). The soft spot? Condos — the Naples median is $400,000, with room to negotiate

Honestly? Days like this are when your house quietly tells you what needs attention. Quick rainy-day checklist:
✔️ Sump pump — is it actually running?
✔️ Downspouts pushing water at least 4–6 feet from your foundation
✔️ Gutters overflowing anywhere? That's water looking for a way into your basement
✔️ Basement window wells clear of leaves

Ten minutes today beats a wet basement in January.

Fall clean-up season is here, Muskego! 🍂 The City's leaf collection started Oct. 26 (weather permitting), so rake leaves right behind the curb, or to the edge of the blacktop if you don't have one. Don't bag them, and keep branches and garden plants out of the piles. Bigger brush? The yard waste drop-off at GFL Emerald Park Landfill on S. 124th St. is open Fridays 9–4 and Saturdays 8–noon.

While you're outside, this is a great week to clean gutters, disconnect garden hoses, and test your smoke detectors now that the clocks have fallen back. As a former teacher, I love a good checklist, and these little jobs protect your home's value all winter long.

This is what Halloween looks like in my neighborhood 🎃😂
Me: a pumpkin and some cornstalks.
My neighbors: 12-foot skeletons, a full skeleton band, fog machines… and a firetruck rolling through throwing candy, with music and dancing.
They add more every year — I honestly don't know where they keep all this stuff. 🤷‍♀️

Happy Halloween weekend, Muskego! 🎃 Had to share this amazing yard from our neighborhood. The skeleton crew even has a Brewers fan cheering them on! ⚾💀

Muskego trick-or-treat is Saturday, Oct. 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. New Berlin, Franklin and Hales Corners go from 4 to 7 p.m. Porch lights on, flashlights ready!

And don't forget, clocks fall back Sunday, Nov. 1. Great time to test your smoke and CO detectors.

WORLD. SERIES. CHAMPIONS. 🏆⚾

The Milwaukee Brewers are World Series champions for the first time EVER — Brewers 4, Rays 1 in Game 5, and William Contreras is your World Series MVP!

What a week: Game 4 in person at the Trop with a Ferg's pregame packed with Crew fans — then I watched the clincher from Cape Coral and I'm still kicking myself for not driving back up to Tampa for Game 5! A lifetime of waiting finally paid off. This one's for every Crew fan who never stopped believing — and for Bob. 💛

GAME 4 — LET'S FINISH THIS! 🧹⚾

We crossed the Skyway and pre-gamed at Ferg's Sports Bar & Grill — right across from Tropicana Field — with a sea of Brewers fans!

And the best surprise: I ran into Dante — one of my buyers down here in Florida, who I taught back in second grade! How cool is that?! 🥰

Brewers up 3-0. One more win and it's a SWEEP — and a World Series title! So excited to be here for this! 💙💛
