I got my hot dogโฆand a whole lot more.
As you know, I bought tickets to Game 4 of the ALCS, but the rain wouldnโt give up, so they postponed it until Saturday evening. After paying for parking and waiting three hours in the truck while the rain continued, we finally headed home when they announced that Game 4 would be played Saturday evening.
Fast-forward to Saturday evening. We made our way back to Cleveland to finally enjoy Game 4.
We went to the gate and were told, โTonight is Game 5, and Game 4 will be played Sunday.โ
Change of plans: Our tickets were NOT good for Saturday night, but for Sunday.
Well, we were already there, and we had paid $80 to park two nights in a row. I determined it was better to buy two tickets at the going rate, go on in and watch the game Saturday night.
Then, last night (Sunday), we headed back to Cleveland to watch Game 4, which was supposed to be Friday night, after watching them lose Game 5 on Saturday (confused yet?).
We learned that more than 10,000 fans were turned away because their Game 4 tickets were not good for Saturdayโs game, which was now Game 5, even though Game 4 hadnโt been played yet. So Game 5 was played before Game 4. ๐ซช
The bottom line is this. We were blessed to participate in the excitement of two ALCS games, and I got my game-day hot dog with stadium mustard. ๐ญ
We cheered through Game 4, which we watched after Game 5, even though the series was already tied 2โ2 going into Game 5, which was really Game 4.
In a sport like baseball, which tracks every imaginable statistic, MLB is evidently not very good at counting.
1-2-3-5-4.
Evidently, this is the new math I keep hearing about.
