Your washing machine cleans your clothes… but when was the last time you cleaned your washing machine? 😳

Here’s the wacky part: front-loading washing machines have rubber door gaskets that can trap moisture, detergent residue, lint and debris. If that area stays damp, it can create conditions where mold or mildew may grow.

👃 Ever opened the washer and noticed that unmistakable musty smell?

💡 FUN FACT FRIDAY!

🚿 Did you know your bathroom exhaust fan should keep running after you finish your shower?

Hot showers can put a surprising amount of moisture into the air. Even after the mirror clears, moisture may still be lingering on walls, ceilings, trim, and other surfaces.

Running your exhaust fan during your shower and for a while afterward can help remove excess moisture before it has a chance to contribute to conditions that support mold growth.

⚠️ And here’s something else to check: make sure that bathroom fan is actually venting OUTSIDE of your home — not into the attic!

Moist air being dumped into an attic can contribute to condensation and moisture problems in an area you probably don’t inspect very often.

🏠 A little moisture control today can help prevent a much bigger problem later!
