Twin Cities Realtor® helping you move with clarity, calm, and a smart plan—whether you’re buying, selling, or just exploring your options. Paul.

Hi, I'm Amy Michielle (yes, two first names for the price of one). ;-)

I am a long time resident of the Twin Cities. I grew up on 38th and Stevens in the Kingfield neighborhood, prior to my father being transferred to Indiana where I attended high school. When I moved back to the MN in 1993 I lived downtown St. Paul, before that was “a thing”. Following that I lived in the North Loop neighborhood Downtown Minneapolis for 9 years. In June of 2014 I moved to the Lyndale with my one-eyed feline, Orange Jefferson DeLight (1996-2018) and Sorella Buttercup, my all-American pup. Summer of 2024, Sorella and I moved with our newest feline family member, KitKat to Bloomington, MN. Before beginning my full-time real estate career in 2010, I owned SoHo Exchange, Inc, a clothing design firm in Downtown Minneapolis. My entrepreneurial spirit began at a young age playing “business” instead of “Barbies.” My first business launched in 1997 with Rolling Video, a video rental delivery service in Downtown St. When I am not working, you will find me Salsa dancing, walking Sorella Buttercup, curled up on my sofa with my feline ninja, KitKat or reading a great book at the beach.

My Hooman sold my kingdom. Without asking me. 😾

🌾 The Kingdom
One red farmhouse. An acre of freedom. Nightly raccoon patrols with my posse. Life was perfect… until she started dreaming about snow removal and someone else mowing the lawn.

🎨 The Two-Year Plan
She painted. She purged (including my basement hideout 🙄). She got connected with a lender early, previewed the house with Amy Michielle before listing, and watched the market instead of guessing. Apparently timing matters.

🪧 The Sale
Strangers toured my castle. Then came 6 offers. Six! Clearly I have excellent taste.

🧳 The Wandering Years
Grandma’s. Auntie’s. Then an apartment with zero raccoons and way too many hallways. I filed my complaints, loudly. We even lost our first townhouse bid. 😿

🏡 The Comeback
Then the right one appeared: garage, trees, patio, pool, no shoveling. One offer. Ours.

Patience + Preparation + Timing = Home. 🔑

Kingdom downsized. Royalty intact. 💅

Thinking about trading acreage or extra square footage for low-maintenance living? The smoothest moves start long before the sign goes up.

📩 DM Amy Michielle SEBASTIAN😺 to start planning early.

☕ Tea Time Tips: Higher rates? Here’s the plot twist, buyers. ☕

Everyone’s talking about rates, but nobody’s talking about the perks hiding behind them. Steve Mohabir of Prosperity Home Mortgage and I are spilling the tea on why a higher-rate market can work in YOUR favor:

🏡 Potentially less competition. Fewer buyers shopping means more breathing room for you.
💸 Potentially less pressure for bidding wars. No more throwing your whole savings account at an offer just to stay in the game.
🤝 Potentially more negotiating power. That can open the door to seller-paid closing cost concessions, which means more money staying in your pocket. Today’s rate is just one piece of the puzzle. The right strategy, like negotiating concessions or exploring a rate buydown, can help make the numbers work right now. (Steve can walk you through what that could look like for you.) Thinking about buying this fall? Let’s chat strategy before the crowd comes back. 📲 DM me “TEA” or visit AMFreeman.com.

🍵 Save this for later and share it with a friend who’s been sitting on the sidelines! Amy Michielle Freeman, REALTOR® | Edina Realty | Lic. #40206615

I hear it every week — and I get the logic. But here’s the thing nobody says out loud: no one actually knows when rates will drop, or by how much. 📉

Myth #2: Waiting for “the right rate” isn’t a plan. It’s a guess.

The better question? Does the home and the monthly payment make sense for YOU, right now. That’s the only number that actually matters.

Myth #3 is coming next — and it’s about what more homes on the market really means for your negotiating power. Spoiler: it’s not as simple as you’d think. 👀

Got a buying question of your own? Drop it below or DM me — it might be next episode. 👇 EdinaRealty
