October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, and this year it means something different to our family.

Henry David Barbieri was with us for a short time, but he changed us completely. He taught David and me what it means to love without conditions, to slow down, and to see the worth in every single life exactly as it is.

This month, we are honoring him. We are celebrating every person with Down syndrome and every family walking this road, the ones just starting out, the ones who have been at it for years, and the ones, like us, who are carrying someone in their hearts.

Every life has value. Every life leaves a mark. Henry’s left one on us that will never fade.

If you have a moment this month, hug your people a little longer, learn something new about the Down syndrome community, or support a local organization doing the work. That would mean the world to us.💙💛
