Who is responsible for boats when a storm comes? ⛵️🌧️
This photo was taken on Biscayne Bay, around Key Biscayne and Coconut Grove.

Every time severe weather approaches, I wonder:

What are the rules for boats anchored or moored in our bays?

Who is responsible if a boat breaks loose, becomes disabled, sinks, or is left behind?

And who pays when a vessel becomes a hazard to navigation, the environment, nearby properties, or public safety?

This is more than a boating issue.

It is also a waterfront, environmental, safety and real estate issue.

Should boat owners be required to take stronger action before major storms?

Are the existing rules and enforcement enough?

I’d love to hear from boat owners, marina operators, waterfront residents, real estate professionals and local authorities.

As regras atuais e a fiscalização são suficientes?
