Halloween weekend is here, and Central Connecticut has a few ways to make the most of it:

🎃Lyman Orchards' corn maze in Middlefield wraps its 2026 season on Sunday, November 1, so this is truly the last weekend to get lost in the stalks, open daily 10am to 4pm.

🧙If costumes are more your speed this weekend, keep an eye on your town's trick-or-treat schedule this week, most towns post exact hours just a few days out.

👻However you spend Halloween, we hope it's full of good candy and better company.

FRIDAY NEWS | Castle Craig Turns 126 Next Week

On October 29, 1900, Castle Craig was dedicated in Meriden's Hubbard Park. Walter Hubbard gave the 32 foot stone tower to the people of Meriden, built from local trap rock by local stone masons.

The observation deck sits 1,002 feet above sea level, per the City of Meriden. Meriden has had that view for 126 years.

✈️ START YOUR SUNDAY ON THE RUNWAY!
Join the Run the Runway 5K & Kids Fun Run at Meriden-Markham Airport. The 5K kicks off at 9 AM, while the Kids Fun Run starts at 8:45 AM. Even better? Proceeds support the Meriden-Wallingford Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans. ❤️

🎃 THEN, LET THE HALLOWEEN FUN BEGIN!
Head to YMCA Mountain Mist Day Camp from 11 AM-3 PM for Halloween Harvest! Think trunk-or-treat, pumpkin decorating, a costume contest, face painting, and even a special visit from a llama! 🦙 All for just $5 per car. Costumes are encouraged, so bring the little ones and join the fun!
