Sam is an Air Force veteran who served as a Crew Chief on the KC-135 aircraft. Today, he serves as a Branch Manager at New American Funding, bringing over 10 years of mortgage experience with a specialization in VA lending.

By combining both his military background and lending expertise, Sam helps Veterans and military families better understand and maximize the home loan benefits they’ve earned through service.

Tomorrow is a special one. ❤️ 💛 🖤

Over the past year, I’ve had the privilege of serving as President of AREAA Greater Milwaukee and working alongside an incredible group of leaders, members, sponsors, and community partners committed to creating greater connection and opportunity in our industry and community.

Tomorrow evening, we’ll come together for our 𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗔 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘂𝗸𝗲𝗲 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 & 𝗪𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗣𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹, but this time, I’ll be trading my president hat (at least temporarily 😅) for a seat on the panel alongside Kristy Vang, AREAA Greater Milwaukee Board Advisor and Rina Courtier, AREAA Greater Milwaukee Vice President.

We’ll be having a candid conversation about leadership, representation, belonging, career growth, and what it really takes to find your voice and create space for others along the way.

No one really talks about how overwhelming buying your first home can feel. You just wake up one day realizing you’re supposed to understand credit scores, debt-to-income ratios, interest rates, inspections, taxes… and somehow make a “smart” life decision.

Instead of Googling or asking AI for tips, here are some quick tips I have stumbled upon over the years through trial and error, especially around credit cards, debt, and what actually helps when preparing to buy a home.

Financial advice is always good in theory, but real life and implementation are usually more nuanced than that. The biggest thing I want everyone to know is this: 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙣𝙚𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙮𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙛𝙞𝙜𝙪𝙧𝙚𝙙 𝙤𝙪𝙩; 𝙟𝙪𝙨𝙩 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙧𝙩 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙨𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙥.

𝘿𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙡𝙖𝙞𝙢𝙚𝙧: Everyone’s financial situation, spending habits, and level of self-control are different. What works well for one person may not work for another, so always consult with a trusted lender or financial professional before making major financial decisions.
