🏡📜 TITLE TIP 📜🏡
💡 DID YOU KNOW? What’s the difference between a DEED and a TITLE?
Although these terms are often used interchangeably, they actually mean two different things!
📜 A DEED is the legal document used to transfer ownership of real estate from one party to another.
🏡 A TITLE refers to the legal ownership rights and interests a person holds in a property.
Think of it this way:
A deed is the document that transfers ownership, while title represents the ownership rights themselves!
🔎 Why does this matter?
Having a deed doesn’t automatically mean your title is free of problems! Liens, easements, ownership disputes, or errors in public records can still affect your property rights.
That’s why title searches are so important!
At Izard County Abstract, we research the history behind the property to help identify potential title issues before closing.
❤️ Because knowing WHO owns the property is important—but knowing WHAT affects that ownership is just as important!
