👻 5 Haunted Attractions Near Dallas to Visit This October
Looking for a frightfully fun night out this October? From creepy wooded trails to elaborate haunted houses, here are five Halloween attractions in and around Frisco worth checking out this spooky season.
🎃 Haunted Shadows Lake Trail — The Colony
Not your typical haunted house! Haunted Shadows Lake Trail takes you on a self-guided journey of more than a mile through the dark woods along Lake Lewisville. Expect eerie trails, unexpected creatures and plenty of things lurking in the shadows. The average trip through the trail takes around 40–45 minutes, and a PG-rated version can also be requested for younger visitors.
🧙 Dark Hour Haunted House — Plano
Dark Hour Haunted House is one of the area's big theatrical Halloween experiences. Think elaborate sets, professional actors, animatronics, lighting, sound and special effects throughout a huge indoor labyrinth. New for 2026 are Medusa's Lair and the Strega Chamber. Dark Hour runs select nights through November 13.
🧟 The Parker House — Denton
Want more than one scare? The Parker House Haunted Attraction combines a story-driven haunted walkthrough with its Outbreak Haunted Zombie Hayride, where guests climb aboard specially equipped vehicles and take on zombies along the way. There's also Psycho Circus with the combo ticket. For families with younger children, Parker House has special "Not So Scary" nights on October 14 and 21.
🎪 Moxley Manor Haunted House — Bedford
Celebrating its 17th season, Moxley Manor gives you three haunted attractions in one location: Moxley Manor, Regan’s Revenge and Big Top Terror 3D. Expect creepy manor rooms, an out-of-control asylum and a terrifying 3D circus experience. It’s open through Halloween, and one ticket includes all three attractions.
🌾 Nightmare Farms — Sherman
This is a new 2026 North Texas haunted attraction with seven separate experiences spread across a creepy farm setting. Guests move through haunted structures, a graveyard, bridge and even a zombie-infested school bus. It runs October 16–November 1, 2026, with gates opening at 6:30 PM.
