Congratulations, Leslie Wantt! 🎉

Leslie is one of the 2026 Spirit of NH Award winners in the adult category from Volunteer NH.

A member of the Manchester Board of School Committee, Leslie is a passionate advocate for our mission to prevent and break the cycle of homelessness. For the past 10 years, she has inspired 10–15 schools across the Manchester School District to form teams for our annual Walk Against Hunger. She also leads her own team and rallies staff, families, and friends to walk and raise funds.

Since 2017, the school teams Leslie has built have raised more than $100,000 to help break the cycle of homelessness and food insecurity in New Hampshire. đź’™

Thank you, Leslie, for being such a champion for Families in Transition and our community!

Every door tells a story. 🚪

For some, a door means safety after a long night. For others, it means a fresh start, a place to call their own, or a home where their children can grow. At Families in Transition, opening doors to hope and home is at the heart of everything we do. đź’™

This year’s Annual Breakfast theme — Opening Doors to Home and Hope — celebrates the work of our community and the people who make it possible.

We want to hear from you. What does home mean to you? Drop your answer in the comments. 👇

If you visited our Amazon Wish List today, you might be surprised by what you find.

A few basic hygiene items, some warm sweats for the winter months, but most of the items are food.

Just food.

Apple sauce. Canned tuna. Cereal. Rice. The basics that so many of us pick up without a second thought but that more than 1,300 Manchester households are counting on us to provide every single month.

Our pantry shelves are low, and our community could use some support. A few clicks can make a real difference.

3,500 pounds of food. Wow! đź’™

Thank you, Temple Adath Yeshurun of Manchester, for organizing your annual Religious Response to Hunger. This year’s food drive collected 3,500 pounds of food for the Families in Transition food pantry.

A donation this size makes a real difference, especially now, when the need in our community continues to be high. It means fuller shelves and more families heading home with the groceries they need.

Thank you to all the participating organizations: Grace Episcopal Church Manchester, Longmeadow Congregational Church, St. Paul's UMC Manchester, Temple Adath Yeshurun, Temple Israel - Manchester, NH, and Whole Foods Market Bedford.

Together, we’re helping break the cycle of food insecurity in New Hampshire. 🥫

Help Us Give Hunger the Bird – October 12–December 14

For all the details visit: www.bluebirdstorage.com/give-hunger-the-bird

This holiday season, Bluebird Storage is proud to launch our Give Hunger the Bird initiative, and we’d love for you to be part of it!

From October 12 through December 14, we will be collecting food and essential items at our Bluebird locations to help make a difference for families in our community.

All donations will benefit Families in Transition, in Manchester, NH and Gather in Portsmouth, NH.

We are especially looking for items such as cereal, pasta, rice, oatmeal, crackers, juice, applesauce, canned tuna, canned soup, tomato sauce, protein bars and shakes, as well as personal care items and clothing.

Every donation, big or small, can make a difference. If you are able, please consider picking up an extra item or two during your next grocery trip and dropping it off at your local Bluebird Storage location.

Together, we can help provide food, essentials, and a little extra support to families in our community this holiday season.

Thank you for helping us Give Hunger the Bird!

What does home mean to you? 🏠

Last year, at our Annual Breakfast, we asked our community that one simple question 💙 The answers filled yellow bricks at every table — words like safety, belonging, peace, family, and fresh starts.

The answers on those bricks lay the foundation for everything we do at Families in Transition. And this year, we’re building on them.

Our 2026 Annual Breakfast theme is Opening Doors to Home and Hope — because home isn’t just a place. It’s what’s waiting on the other side of the right door. 🚪
