A UFO in the California mountains? 🛸

The iconic Donaldson Futuro House in Idyllwild, California, is on the market for $1.495 million.

Designed in 1969 by Finnish architect Matti Suuronen, this futuristic, flying saucer-shaped home features approximately 800 square feet of living space, one bedroom, and one bathroom.

To be honest, I had been feeling a little flat the last couple months. I work on my own—no partner, no team, no one else to fire me up or be pushed by. And so that’s why I feel the timing of this years Global Networking Event was spot on.

Coinciding with Sotheby’s International Realty’s 50 anniversary (which I also celebrated this year), I arrived looking for spark—and left fully lit up.

Hosted in San Francisco, currently having a dizzying real estate AI boom, with the best weather that could ever have been had, and seeing so many colleagues made it crystal clear to me how much I enjoy being around realtors—especially those from Sotheby’s

My buyers had the goal of purchasing a duplex as a way to downsize from their single-family residence. We put this one under contract, contingent on selling their home. Needless to say it required urgency, patience and a strategy that would bare results. Duplexes are great asset class—not only for investors—but for buyers who want to put a tenant, family member or live more modestly.
