These lovely buyers came to us with some pretty specific parameters: they knew exactly what they wanted and where they wanted to be, and they were more than willing to take their time and wait for the right place.

Then 609 Willowbrook Circle hit the market. Tucked into a beautiful, peaceful pocket of Monrovia north of Foothill, it checked so many of their boxes and they instantly fell in love.

We moved pretty quickly and opened escrow, but during our due diligence, we uncovered some issues with the property that they couldn’t ignore. When we weren’t able to come to terms with the sellers, our buyers made the really difficult decision to cancel and walk away.

We went back out and saw a few more homes, but nothing felt quite right—and they still couldn’t get Willowbrook out of their minds.

Ultimately, we ended up resubmitting their offer at a significantly lower price that would give them room to take on the repairs the home needed, and this time, the sellers accepted and we opened escrow for the second time.

After a very long and emotional road getting here, we finally closed today, and this sweet growing family officially has keys to the home they couldn’t stop thinking about.

We couldn’t be happier for them and so glad they were able to find their way back to Willowbrook. 💫💛

🏠 Getting the best result means knowing that the deal is always in the details.

For 3510 Ferncroft, some of those details were in the kitchen.

Preparing this home for sale with our client (who also happens to be a designer), meant transforming the kitchen to attract the right buyers. đź’«

The original layout was completely reimagined, creating room for a proper island with hidden storage, full-height pantries, and a much more functional flow. The widened doorway to the dining room also helped the kitchen feel more open while maintaining a sense of separation.

Directing the renovation project, Anasuya Engel brought a design vision of modernism with vintage charm to life, including:

→ warm wood cabinetry paired with Plank Hardware handles
→ a deep red-and-white checkerboard Marmoleum floor
→ concrete-look Caesarstone countertops
→ handmade Mexican tile for texture from Zia Tile.

Every detail was thoughtfully chosen. And some of the best details came from thinking creatively together, including custom café curtains made from fabric found by the homeowner!

In addition to the kitchen, we added a full bathroom in the front bedroom for additional flexibility. A major transformation, but one that feels intentional, joyful, and completely at home in the house.
