Some homeowners who planned to sell are changing course and renting their homes out instead.
In fact, about 9% of homes for rent were originally listed for sale.
Renting can absolutely make sense in the right situation. But it’s worth remembering that becoming a landlord comes with its own responsibilities.
You’re handling repairs, maintenance, tenant questions, and the possibility of carrying the mortgage if the property sits vacant between renters.
That doesn’t make renting a bad choice. It just means it should be a deliberate one, not something you fall into because the house didn’t sell right away.
If you’d rather sell, the right pricing and marketing strategy still matter.
