Insurance companies test emotional endurance.

It is about knowing when to push and when to pause.

⏱️ If we are waiting on lab results or expert findings, patience builds credibility.

⏱️ If we are waiting on an adjuster response, pressure keeps the file alive.

INSURANCE COMPANIES HAVE ADJUSTERS REPRESENTING THEIR INTERESTS. WHY SHOULD POLICYHOLDERS BE PREVENTED FROM HIRING THEIR OWN?

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has launched an investigation into insurance policy provisions that could allow insurers to deny an entire property damage claim simply because a homeowner hires a licensed public adjuster.

The investigation includes a subpoena to Velocity Risk Underwriters and examines whether insurers coordinated efforts to restrict policyholders' access to independent representation.

Think about that.

Insurance companies employ adjusters, engineers, consultants, and other professionals to evaluate claims and protect their financial interests.

Yet some policy provisions allegedly penalize homeowners for retaining a licensed professional to represent theirs.

At Insurance Claim Recovery Support (ICRS), we believe policyholders deserve transparency, fair treatment, and the ability to obtain independent professional assistance when navigating complex property insurance claims.

An investigation is not a finding of wrongdoing, but the underlying question deserves serious attention:

Should an insurance company be able to deny coverage simply because a policyholder seeks independent representation?

Did you know insurance adjusters may intentionally slow responses to pressure claimants into quick or reduced settlements?

Industry experts consistently point out that delayed emails, postponed calls, and stalled decisions are not always accidental.

Timing is often used as leverage.

This is where most claims quietly lose ground.

Push too hard and you risk damaging credibility.

Wait too long and momentum disappears.

Smart negotiation lives in the middle.

If we are waiting on lab results or expert findings, patience builds trust and strengthens the file.

But when we are waiting on an adjuster response, strategic pressure keeps the claim active and visible.

Insurance carriers test emotional endurance. They watch who rushes. They watch who fades.

The ones who succeed do neither. They time their moves.

Mastering that rhythm takes experience.

It is not just about knowing the policy language.

It is about understanding how people make decisions under pressure.

If your claim feels stalled, the issue is often timing, not effort.

When Expert Opinions Replace Accountability, Policyholders Pay the Price.

We've been raising concerns about these types of practices for years, so I can't say I'm surprised.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion. But when you're a licensed professional engineer whose opinions can determine whether a policyholder receives hundreds of thousands—or even millions—of dollars in insurance benefits, that opinion comes with serious professional and ethical responsibilities.

Engineering conclusions should be grounded in objective evidence, sound methodology, professional independence, and accepted engineering principles.

When there is a recurring pattern of questionable findings, inconsistent methodologies, or conclusions that appear to depart from those fundamental principles, it raises legitimate questions that deserve investigation and accountability.

And let's not overlook the insurance companies.

Insurers regularly rely on engineering reports and other third-party expert opinions to support coverage decisions, claim denials, and settlement positions. But retaining an outside expert does not relieve an insurance company of its responsibility to conduct a reasonable investigation and fairly evaluate the evidence.

An expert report should never become a convenient substitute for an independent, good-faith claim investigation.

The question isn't whether engineers are entitled to their opinions. The question is whether those opinions can withstand objective scrutiny—and whether the insurance companies relying on them are willing to accept responsibility for the resulting claim decisions.

Professional accountability shouldn't be optional. Neither should fair treatment of policyholders.

At Insurance Claim Recovery Support (ICRS), we've spent more than two decades advocating for policyholders and challenging claim decisions that aren't supported by the evidence.

Insurance companies have experts working for them. You should too.™

Most cases alleging State Farm ran a scheme to defraud policy holders through denying wind and hail claims come with heavily redacted court documents and protective orders shielding any exhibits from the public. But a recent hearing has put a spotlight on the company's alleged use of Haag Engineering. Link in comments for full story.

Insurance companies know delay equals leverage.

You have sent everything…The estimate…The photos…The proof of loss…

Then nothing.

No emails.

No calls.

Weeks go by.

That silence is not an accident.

We do not wait in silence.

We break it with documentation and pressure that is polite, persistent, and strategic.

✅ Every follow up goes in writing.

✅ Every message is timestamped.

✅ Every unanswered email becomes part of the record.

We present facts.

If your claim has gone quiet, it is time to turn up the pressure the right way.

Did you know insurance companies often use a strategy known as delay, deny, defend to pressure policyholders?

Here is how it usually plays out.

‼️ First, communication slows.

‼️ Emails go unanswered.

‼️ Calls stop getting returned.

‼️ Then parts of the claim are questioned or minimized.

‼️ Documentation gets re requested.

‼️ Inspections get pushed out.

The goal is simple.

Wear you down.

The longer a claim drags on, the more likely someone accepts less just to move on.

This is why silence matters.

✅ When insurers delay, we document it.

✅ Every follow up in writing.

✅ Every unanswered message timestamped.

✅ Every reschedule recorded.

When it is time to escalate, we do not bring opinions.

We bring a record.

At that point, silence is no longer harmless.

It becomes liability.

And that is when movement happens.

If your claim has gone quiet, waiting will not fix it.

Strategic pressure will.
