❤️ THIS IS WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO! GOD IS STILL IN THE BUSINESS OF CHANGING LIVES! 🙏
Every once in a while, God sends us a reminder of why we do what we do at Cornerstone Mission.
Today, we received a message from someone who had come through our doors during a very difficult season of life. The message began with a sincere apology for past behavior while struggling with alcohol.
But it was what came next that truly touched my heart. ❤️
This person shared:
"I looked at liqueur as my only friend in the world. It was a really sad time for me. Though I managed a smile regardless."
Think about that for a moment. How many people do we encounter every day who are smiling on the outside but fighting battles we cannot see?
Then came the words that made this message such a blessing:
"I'm proud to let y'all know that I've managed to get this monkey (liqueur) off my back once and for all. (Yeay!) 🙂"
"I'm no longer on the streets and I am a humble servant for God."
And this person shared that a new employment opportunity is on the horizon! 🙌
PRAISE GOD! WHAT A TESTIMONY OF HOPE, REDEMPTION, AND SECOND CHANCES!
At Cornerstone Mission, we don't always see the happy endings. We see people at their lowest. We see addiction, brokenness, frustration, setbacks, and sometimes behaviors that are difficult to navigate.
But we also know that the person standing in front of us today is not necessarily the person they will be tomorrow.
People can change. Lives can be restored. And nobody is beyond the reach of God's grace!
My response was simple: Absolutely! We believe in you, and we want to see you succeed!
Sometimes we plant the seeds. Sometimes someone else waters them. And sometimes, if we are blessed, God allows us to see a little of the harvest. 🌱❤️
To our incredible staff, volunteers, donors, churches, and community partners, please remember this when the days get long and the work gets hard.
Your kindness matters. Your patience matters. Your prayers matter. And the hope you give someone today may be the very thing that helps them believe in tomorrow.
This message was an answered prayer and a beautiful reminder that our work is about so much more than providing a meal or a bed.
It's about never giving up on the possibility of a changed life.
Thank you, Lord, for allowing us to witness another chapter in someone's story. 🙏❤️
