While the number of bedrooms and the size of the backyard are both important when choosing a home, the location shouldn’t be overlooked. Keep these factors in mind when choosing where to buy a home.

Property taxes play a significant role in a monthly budget. While you have little control over the mandated costs, it’s best to consider the tax history. The amenities of a neighborhood itself may weigh heavily on your decision, so scope out the area and find out if what the neighborhood offers will make you happy in the long run.

Even if you don’t have kids, a school district can impact the value of a home. Lastly, if you move somewhere where your commute is over an hour, you’re likely to get tired of the location quickly. You may want to consider a home near public transportation or highway access.
