New charging station offers electric vehicle drivers a convenient place to recharge while exploring Downtown Jasper.

Jasper Main Street is pleased to announce a partnership with Carl Cannon Chevrolet Buick GMC to bring a new electric vehicle (EV) charging station to Downtown Jasper. This addition provides another modern convenience for residents and visitors while encouraging them to spend time exploring the downtown district.

The new charging station is located on 5th Avenue between 19th and 20th streets, just behind the Southeast Hospice offices. The station features two charging connections, allowing two electric vehicles to charge simultaneously.

Unlike traditional gas stations, EV charging provides drivers with an opportunity to enjoy their surroundings while their vehicles recharge. Conveniently located within walking distance of downtown restaurants, shops, and attractions, the station encourages drivers to make the most of their charging time by discovering all that Downtown Jasper has to offer.

“This is another exciting opportunity to enhance the downtown experience while preparing our community for the future,” said Mike Putman, Executive Director of Jasper Main Street. “We appreciate Carl Cannon Chevrolet Buick GMC partnering with us to make this possible. By offering EV charging in the heart of downtown, we're not only providing a valuable service for drivers but also creating another reason for visitors to stop, shop, dine, and experience Jasper.”

The new station features Level 2 charging technology, offering a convenient option for drivers who want to recharge while enjoying nearby businesses and attractions. Its dual charging capability and easy-to-use design make it a welcome addition to the downtown area.
