The easiest way to make your home feel bigger might be hiding in plain sight. 👀
Most of us collect things over the years. And because we see them every day, it’s easy to stop noticing just how much we have.
Here are 5 signs your home might be ready for a little reset:
1. Your home feels smaller than it should.
Clutter and too much furniture can make rooms feel noticeably smaller and darker than they actually are.
2. Every surface is covered.
Counters, tables, shelves and nightstands can make a home feel cluttered even when everything is technically clean.
3. Your closets are overflowing.
If pulling out one thing means several others come tumbling out, that’s a pretty good sign.
4. Your garage has become a storage space.
If your cars barely fit anymore, it might be time to reclaim some of that square footage.
5. There’s an “everything” room.
That spare bedroom, office or corner where things seem to land because they don’t have a real home.
And if you’re thinking about selling, this matters.
Buyers need to be able to see the space, not everything in the space. Clearing surfaces, simplifying furniture and organizing closets can make your home feel larger and give buyers a better sense of what the property has to offer.
You don’t need to declutter your entire house overnight. Start with one drawer, one closet or one room.
Sometimes one of the best things you can do before selling doesn’t require a contractor at all.
Just a little less stuff. 😉
