Another Picklo Family Staycation! ✈️🌊💙

Our second year staying at the Hyatt for the Huntington Beach Airshow, and it’s officially a family tradition! They spoiled us with a room upgrade and a beautiful view, so we watched the show from our balcony or poolside while the girls lived their best waterslide lives.

Some might think we’re crazy for booking a hotel just down the street from home, but we enjoyed every minute 🥰

Our Uber driver asked us a question on the way to our Disney date that caught me a little off guard:

“How did you manage to come to Disney without the kids getting upset? Or do they not know that’s where you’re going?”

They know. 🤍

Our girls know when Mom and Dad are going on a date. They know where we’re going, and they’re usually excited for us.

When we get home, they want to see our pictures, hear what we did, and they always ask, “Did you have fun?”

We’ve never made our dates something we hide from our kids, and we’ve never treated time together as something we should feel guilty about.

Instead, we’ve always positioned it as:

“Mom and Dad get to go on a date and spend time together.”

And they actually love hearing that.

Our dates aren’t negotiable. Not because our kids aren’t our priority, but because our marriage is a priority too.

I love that our daughters are growing up seeing that Mom and Dad genuinely like spending time together. 🤍

Our Picklo Family Trip again was one for the books.
Dennis planned the entire thing (as always!) and it was perfect in every way. 🩷

We were there to celebrate Peyton’s 5th birthday!

The Waldorf Astoria Monarch Beach Resort & Club went above and beyond for us from the moment we checked in ✨ highly recommend

It was nice to fully unplug and enjoy time together just the 4 of us ❤️
