Remember the Victorian? We’re picking up where we left off.

To close out the main floor: the bar, lounge, and dining room, the moodiest rooms in the house. The bar pays homage to one of the home’s original owners, who ran a distillery, and it sits beneath the wood beams that give this space so much of its character. Through the doorway, the dining room carries that same warmth into a deeper, richer tone.

Upstairs is next. Stay tuned.

Step inside the carriage house.

Just off the pool, the main floor holds a bath with a shower, changing space, and sauna, so swimming, warming up, and getting ready all happen steps from the water. Upstairs is a golf simulator. Getting enough clearance for a full swing on a second floor took careful planning, and now there’s room to play a round any time of year.

Another new project. Here’s your first look 👀

Behind the home, we added a carriage house and a covered outdoor lounge, with a pergola that stretches over the pool to tie the two together.

Nearly every decision on this one came down to matching. We tracked down limestone and salvaged clay roof tile to blend with the original house, and chose lighting and heaters that echo its existing patio, so every new piece feels like it’s always been there.

We’re skipping a few rooms on the main floor, because we simply couldn’t wait to show you this kitchen.

The homeowners wanted a true chef’s kitchen that still felt right at home in a house built in 1893. It all came together around a vintage piece they tracked down outside Pittsburgh, drawers and all, which we reworked into the island. Soft inset cabinetry and warm wood trim true to the rest of the house keep it feeling like it’s always belonged here.

Your comments on the exterior did not go unnoticed. Come on in.

The front of the house is where you’ll first meet this home’s character: the staircase, the curved banquette, the mantel, and the woodwork that frames every doorway.

Years of water damage had left the staircase in rough shape, and bringing it back took real time and care. Even the trim got its due, with salvaged pieces matched back to the doors and windows they came from, and anything missing custom milled to match.

Plenty more where this came.

Built in 1893, and ready for 133 more years.

When this Victorian came to us, years of failed gutters and water damage had taken their toll. We worked from the outside in to stop the damage at its source, then gave the exterior the care it had been missing for a long time. The result is the same house that’s stood on this block for over a century, finally looking like itself again.

“She’s stunning. She’s exactly what we wanted.”

Character, brightness, and warmth were the goals for this whole-home renovation, and this built-in hits all three.

It has glass-front storage on either side, open shelves for a few favorite pieces, and plenty of room below for everything else. It’s also proof that a family home doesn’t have to play it safe with white.

So much of our team helps shape a project long before it’s finished.

Our office, design, architecture, and millwork teams all leave their mark, but most of us only ever see the work through updates from the field. So we’ve started something new: when a job wraps, the whole team heads out together and that project’s superintendent walks us through it. This one was Nate’s, and seeing it through his eyes made it feel that much more special.

We’re already looking forward to the next one. Nate set the bar high.
