π‘ Happy Friday!
Itβs been another challenging week for mortgage rates. The average 30-year fixed mortgage rate is hovering around 7.375%β7.500%, following another week of volatility in the bond market.
π Whatβs driving rates? Rising inflation concerns, higher oil prices, and continued uncertainty surrounding the conflict with Iran have pushed Treasury yields higher, putting additional pressure on mortgage rates.
The good news? Weβve seen a little relief toward the end of the week as bond markets responded positively to signs of easing geopolitical tensions. While itβs not a major turnaround, itβs encouraging to see some stabilization.
π What does this mean for buyers and sellers? Affordability continues to be a challenge, but this is where creative financing strategies, seller concessions, and temporary rate buydowns can make a real difference. Buyers shouldnβt necessarily put their plans on hold waiting for rates to drop.
Have a great weekend! ππ
