Heating season is here, and if your home has a furnace-mounted humidifier, now is a good time to make sure it’s ready to work.

These systems are easy to forget about because they’re often tucked away beside the furnace.

Before relying on yours this winter, check:

💧 Inspect or replace the water panel/pad as needed
🔍 Look for leaks, mineral buildup or corrosion
🚰 Make sure the water supply is turned on
🌬️ Check the seasonal bypass damper position, if equipped
⚙️ Confirm the humidistat is set appropriately

A neglected humidifier can develop heavy mineral deposits, leak around the furnace area, or simply stop adding moisture effectively.

This weekend was so incredible. We had an opportunity to honor my Simone and her husband Zach with their Chicago Baby shower for their soon to be here son and 1st grandchild, Carson. That small gap around your tub or shower may not look like a big deal—but water can find its way into some very small openings.

Cracked, loose, or missing caulk can allow moisture to reach areas that weren’t designed to stay wet.

This weekend, take a quick look for:

A few things homeowners should watch for:

🌿 Trim vegetation back to maintain airflow and access
