🎃👻 Halloween is just over a week away, and my neighborhood does NOT play around when it comes to trick-or-treating 😂🍬

Whether your house is on a busy candy route or a quiet street, a little prep makes the night safer AND more fun. Here's what I'm knocking out at my place this week 👇

✨ Light it up — swap in a bright porch bulb and clear the walkway so little feet (and tired parents) can see where they're going
✨ Dress up the steps — pumpkins, cornstalks, a hay bale or two. Curb appeal isn't just for listing photos 😉
✨ Buy the good candy LAST — stock up in the final few days so it actually survives until Halloween (I know myself 😅)
✨ Corral the pets — even the friendliest pups get jumpy with a doorbell ringing 200 times 🐶
✨ One last sweep — check for wobbly steps, hoses across the path, anything a cape could trip on

🍂 Thinking about selling this fall? Here's what I'm telling my sellers right now 👇

✨ Price for the market you HAVE, not the one you wish you had. Fall buyers are fewer — but they're serious. The right price brings them through the door; the wrong one has them scrolling past.

✨ Light is everything. Days are getting shorter, so open every blind, turn on every light, and get photos taken while the leaves are still pretty. A bright house photographs — and shows — so much better.

✨ Showing-ready beats perfect. You don't need a renovation. You need clear counters, fresh towels, and a front porch that says "come on in." Small touches make buyers feel at home fast.

🍂 October home prep checklist — because the first cold snap always finds the thing you forgot 😅

A few things worth knocking out before it gets properly cold:

✅ Flip ceiling fans to clockwise (pushes warm air back down)
✅ Change your HVAC filter — it's been working hard all summer
✅ Disconnect and drain garden hoses so pipes don't freeze
✅ Clean the gutters before the leaves really pile up
✅ Test smoke + CO detectors (fresh batteries while you're at it)
✅ Seal drafty windows and doors — your power bill will thank you
