Standing in front of the historic Fox Theatre in Atlanta with my grandchildren recently brought a wave of nostalgia. The last time I was here? 1985, rocking out to Tears for Fears. I walked through those doors half-expecting Head Over Heels to blast through the speakers, only to fast-forward through decades of life, career, family, and beautiful chaos straight into a stunning ballet with the little ones. 🎭✨

Sometimes, it takes a fresh set of eyes to see the beauty right in front of us. 🪵🍂

I have walked past this old, weathered red trailer hitch in the woods here at HighLake countless times without giving it a second thought. But when a visiting friend stopped, took a photo, and showed it to me, I was blown away by how much character and rustic charm it actually had.

It was such a great reminder that everything we see or experience can reveal an entirely different perspective when viewed through someone else's lens.

You can’t spend a morning exploring downtown without a stop at Great Northern Coffee Traders. We grabbed a classic pumpkin latte to fuel up as we put the finishing touches on our preparations for The New Awakening retreat happening here at HighLake Vacations on October 31 – November 1.

After stocking up on farm-fresh veggies at the farmers market, we stopped by Bella Bella Boutique right here in downtown Minocqua. There is something so special about supporting fellow local Northwoods businesses while pulling together the final touches for The Awakening retreat (Oct 31 – Nov 1).
