Homeowners Report Greater Financial Satisfaction
Recent survey results underscore an important trend I see every day: nearly 70% of homeowners report feeling financially satisfied, compared to less than half of nonhomeowners. While homeownership often brings greater confidence about money, challenges remain—low-40% of homeowners still live paycheck to paycheck, though that's a marked difference from the 60%+ of nonowners facing the same. The true long-term benefit is clear: building equity and growing wealth steadily over time. In fact, research from a leading real estate portal found that those who buy by age 30 end up with around 23% higher net worth by age 50—on average, that's about $119,000 more. That said, it's key not to overextend; when housing costs reach 30-40% of your budget, it can limit your ability to save elsewhere. As a REALTOR® licensed in NH and MA, I focus on helping clients weigh these factors, so their path to homeownership aligns with both their financial goals and personal priorities.
