YOUR LICENSE PLATE IS BECOMING YOUR PARKING PERMIT 🚗🏖️

Beginning January 1, Gulf Shores will transition to digital license-plate exemptions for qualifying residents and residential property owners.

That does not mean you need a new license plate—or that another sticker will be placed on it. You will register the plate you already have, and once approved, the plate number itself becomes your digital parking permit.

The city’s new registration portal has not been published yet, so I’ll share those instructions as soon as they become available.

Also in today’s coastal update:

Foley approved the Magnolia Walk economic-development and user-fee agreements yesterday, along with a disaster-recovery consulting agreement. Orange Beach meets today at 5 p.m. to consider the Jubilee Point Road elevation grant contract, followed by discussion of the county hazard-mitigation plan.

I’ll continue separating confirmed decisions from proposals so property owners, buyers and investors know exactly what has—and has not—changed.
