Preserving the history of a site requires a delicate balance of restoration and ecological stewardship. For this private cemetery, the objective was to ethically clear invasive growth while protecting both the native plant species and the integrity of the historic headstones.
A winding path now navigates through a newly established wildflower meadow, integrating the space back into the broader landscape. Strategic additions, including climbing plants installed with non-invasive mounts, allow for vertical growth without compromising the existing timber.
This project presented a unique opportunity to honor a found piece of history, transforming a forgotten space into a protected sanctuary within the estate.
