Can you guess what I’m doing with rice and Dawn dish soap?

Nope… this is NOT meal prep. 😂

We’re cleaning! 🫧

A client presented me with a cleaning challenge: her beautiful glass light fixtures had previously been cleaned with glass cleaner, but unfortunately, it left behind a stubborn film on the inside.

The problem? These glass bulbs aren’t exactly hand-accessible. I couldn’t simply reach inside with a cloth and wipe them down.

So… time to get creative.

I present:

🫧 Dawn dish soap
💧 Warm water
🍚 Rice

The uncooked rice gives just enough gentle scrubbing action to help loosen the film while the soapy water does the cleaning, without needing to somehow fit my entire arm inside the fixture.

Sometimes cleaning isn’t about having a fancy product. It’s about figuring out the problem and finding a solution.

And yes… that glass is going to sparkle again, see pictures for the before and after. ✨

A week of visiting with family and getaway was well needed.

Of course, I couldn’t completely turn off the property management brain while I was away. Staying at a beautiful Airbnb, it’s hard not to notice the little details that make a vacation rental stand out.

It really is great walking into an Airbnb that has cleanliness, comfort, and simple thoughtful touches make a guest feel right at home, it’s hard not to pay attention when this is what I do!

Rest and relaxation, plus a little professional inspiration. 😉

Always have extras.
