I recently got to tour the Georgetown ISD Future Ready Complex and was blown away by the programs offered to high school students in Georgetown.
The goal behind every program they offer is straightforward: prepare students to walk into a career the moment they graduate high school, or give them a head start toward a college degree or advanced certification. Georgetown and East View High School students get transportation directly to the complex, and each pathway leads to a real, industry-recognized certification or license.
Here’s what’s offered:
🩺 Health Science: CNA, Patient Care Technician, & Pharmacy Technician certifications
🤖 Manufacturing, Robotics & Automation: new and tied to Georgetown’s growing manufacturing sector
📚 Teaching & Training: Educational Aide Certification
👩🍳 Culinary Arts: training in a full commercial kitchen
🛠️ Automotive: shop training aimed at post-graduation job placement
💇♀️ Cosmetology: leading to a Texas cosmetologist license
✈️ Aviation: aircraft maintenance and avionics, including a hands-on plane build
🚁 Drones: licensing and building
🚀 Advanced Engineering & Rocketry
🎥 Audio/Video Production
🛍️ A boutique and coffee shop, run by students
🖨️ An innovation lab with 3D printers, laser cutters, and Cricuts that fills real orders for the community
Walking through the facilities made me so excited for my own kids to go to high school in Georgetown, knowing they’ll have the chance to get a head start on their futures.
When you’re deciding where to move, schools are a big part of the conversation and programs like this make Georgetown a compelling option.
If you’re considering a move to the north Austin area, I’d love to show you what each community has to offer. Send me your questions, and I’m happy to be a resource!
