A Brief History of Shrinky Dinks

• 1973: Shrinky Dinks were invented by Betty Morris and Kate Bloomberg in Brookfield, Wisconsin. Who knew shrinking plastic would become a childhood sensation?

• The Big Idea: Kids colored special plastic sheets, cut out their creations, and baked them in the oven. The plastic shrank and thickened — basically, arts and crafts with a side of science!

• The 1980s: Shrinky Dinks became a huge hit, inspiring everything from jewelry to keychains. Suddenly, every kid was a tiny plastic artist.

• Today: They’re still loved by kids and nostalgic adults who enjoy making miniature masterpieces — and occasionally burning a perfectly good dinosaur.
Fun fact: Your artwork typically shrinks to about one-third of its original size. So, draw big, dream big, and let the oven handle the downsizing!

** Even Mother Nature has a Shrinky Dink hobby—apparently, our parking permits are her latest project! Just add sunshine and watch them shrink! 😁

Apartment Living – Pros & Cons

Apartment living has many advantages.
