A Celebration of Life honoring Brian will be held on Wednesday, November 11th, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Brian Smith, the founding attorney of Smith Sholar Milliken Matthews.

If you knew Brian, you know he was truly one of a kind. He had high expectations, strong opinions, a sense of humor all his own, and a heart that was far bigger than he wanted anyone to know.

Brian spent his career building a law firm, but it was so much more than that. He believed in people, gave them opportunities, and was incredibly generous with those around him. So many of us are where we are today because of the chances he gave us and the things he taught us along the way.

Those of us who knew Brian have enough stories to last a lifetime. Some that make us laugh, some that make us cry, and probably a few that still make us angry. There will never be another quite like him.

Our hearts are with Linda, his family, and everyone who loved him.

You built something special here, and we’re proud to be a part of it. We’ll miss you more than you know.

He expected a great deal, but if he believed in you, he would push you. He pushed me to where I am today. He will be greatly missed, but his legacies and life lessons will forever live on here at the office. He will never be forgotten.”

Thank you so much to everyone who came out for our chili lunch today!

What a wonderful turnout! It was so nice to see familiar faces, welcome some new ones, and spend a little time together on such a beautiful fall day.
