Shoulda, coulda, woulda is really easy to say in today’s market. While a lot of us are accustomed to 3% interest rates, that 5% doesn’t look so bad today when interest rates are trailing in the mid 7s. It may seem impossible, but that’s why it’s important to work with a great agent and lender to show you your options and help tweak your game plan.
And before you say, “that’s easy for you to say, it’s not your money!” I bought a home in 2023 with a 6.375% interest rate, more than double the interest rate of my first home. The numbers worked for us and our mindset was we’ll refinance as soon as the rate goes down. So many articles anticipated the rate dropping in 2024, then in 2025, and here we are 3 years later— waiting, but comfortable, until that time comes (or doesn’t).
If you’re on the fence to buy, don’t find yourself in 3 years saying shoulda, coulda, woulda bought in 2026. I’m happy to chat anything through and answer any questions you have. 559.307.4907
The best time to buy a home was 15 years ago. The second best time is now.
