A proposed master-planned community near Friant could bring significant new development — and economic activity — to Fresno County.
Friant Ranch calls for about 2,500 homes along with commercial and open-space uses. County documents show the project covers a 942.2-acre specific plan area, and the Fresno County Planning Commission is considering its environmental review and related land-use applications.
According to the county staff report cited by The Business Journal, construction is projected to generate $1.3 billion in economic activity over 10 years and support an average of about 643 jobs annually.
The proposal also comes with significant transportation impacts identified in its environmental review.
