Whether you’re in Rockford or Freeport, here’s what’s happening in our local housing market right now.

Rockford was named the #1 hottest housing market in the country by Realtor.com! Home prices are at record highs, which is great news for sellers. And buyers, you finally have more options, with about twice as many homes for sale as last year.

Freeport is a different story, in a good way for buyers. More than half of the homes there are selling under list price, so there’s real room to negotiate. Homes are still going under contract in about 15 days, so sellers who price right from the start are seeing results.

The one thing affecting everyone is interest rates, which are sitting around 7.4%. Having a plan and the right person in your corner makes all the difference.
