This is an interior view of a main electric panel in a 1970 built home. This reveals aluminum wiring running throughout the house. The wiring is spliced into the panel with AlumiConn splices that connect copper to the aluminum. This is a more economical, safe and accepted alternative to rewiring the entire house with copper. Homes built between the mid 60’s through the mid 70’s often have aluminum wires. However, buyers don’t have to be discouraged by them.
