Last Friday we took an excursion to the GLEAM Outdoor Art Exhibit at Olbrich Botanical Gardens!

This incredible show is made of entirely light-based art and therefore can only be viewed once it is dark. Residents got their steps in walking to different portions of the exhibit, each with their own take on the exhibit’s theme of creatures.

We started at “Something May Answer” where there was a microphone that the more you talked into it the closer the fantasy creatures on the screen got. The exit was “Angling Allure,” a giant anglerfish which you had to walk right in its mouth to get out.

But the favorite exhibit for our group was probably “Allium” where we made a human chain between two metal balls to make the allium center display brighter!

Last Friday residents got to take a trip to The International Crane Foundation! This incredible organizations runs a global conservation effort to protect all 15 species of cranes found across the world, and at their headquarters in Baraboo you can see each of the species in person!

Residents took a private tour of the Discovery Center with the opportunity to ask plenty of questions. Did you know that cranes apparently don’t like the color red, especially neon red or pink? The sight of anything red or pink seems to get the cranes all riled up!
