Walk through an open house on a Saturday just to see what’s out there.

Drive through a neighborhood you’re curious about at 6 PM on a weeknight—when you’d actually be coming home from work.

Watch what homes in the areas you like are listed for, then check back to see what they eventually sell for. Over time, you’ll start getting a much better feel for the market than you can get from scrolling listings alone.

And somewhere along the way, talk to a Realtor.
