🎃🔥 FIRE PREVENTION FRIDAY: Keep Halloween Spooky, Not Dangerous! 👻
Halloween is almost here! Before the ghosts and goblins arrive at your door, take a few minutes to make sure your home is ready for a safe and fire-free Halloween.
🏠 Here are 5 ways to keep your home safe:
🕯️ Choose flameless lighting. Use battery-operated candles or glow sticks in your jack-o’-lanterns instead of open flames.
🔥 Keep decorations away from heat. Dried cornstalks, fake spiderwebs, paper decorations, and costumes can catch fire. Keep them away from candles, heaters, and light bulbs.
🚪 Keep exits clear. Make sure decorations, pumpkins, and other items aren't blocking doorways, stairs, or escape routes.
🚨 Check your smoke alarms. Make sure your smoke alarms are working before the Halloween festivities begin.
👻 Think about costume safety. Avoid long, trailing fabrics that could catch fire, and make sure masks don't block your child's vision.
🎃 A little prevention goes a long way! Let's keep the only frights this Halloween in the haunted houses—not in our homes.
Have a safe and happy Halloween! 🧡🖤
