SERVICE AFTER SERVICE

Leaving the military meant leaving the uniform behind.

But it didn't mean leaving everything behind.

I carry the lessons with me.

Discipline.
Accountability.
Preparation.
Teamwork.
Commitment.
And the responsibility to serve others well.

Those lessons have followed me into every season since.

Today, I'm grateful for the opportunity to use what I've learned in a different way.

Different uniform.
Different mission.
Same commitment to serve.

Life insurance isn’t just for married people.

Being single doesn’t mean you don’t have financial responsibilities. Final expenses, debts, family members you help support, and other obligations can all be part of the conversation.

The right coverage depends on your individual situation, and understanding your options is a great place to start.

SERVICE AFTER SERVICE

21 years in the military taught me that preparation matters.

You don't wait until the moment arrives to decide whether you're ready.

You prepare beforehand.

Today, I carry that same mindset into this season of service.

Life can change quickly. While we can't always predict what’s ahead, we can take steps today to prepare for what may come.

The uniform may be different now, but the value of preparation remains.

Can you get life insurance after 40?

Absolutely.

But here's something worth thinking about: waiting doesn't necessarily make the conversation easier.

As we get older, life insurance generally becomes more expensive, and changes in our health can affect the options available to us and the premiums we may pay.

That doesn't mean being over 40 means you can't get coverage.

It means your age, health, financial responsibilities, and goals are all part of the conversation.

Your life may look very different today than it did 10, 20, or even 30 years ago. Maybe you have a home, a family, a business, or financial responsibilities that weren't there before.

So instead of asking:
“Am I too old?”

Ask:
“What do I need to protect at this stage of my life?”

You don't have to have all the answers before you start. Understanding your options is the first step.

RETIREMENT DIDN'T END MY PURPOSE

When you've spent 21 years doing something, it's easy to wonder what comes next when that chapter closes.

Who am I now?
What's my next mission?
Where can I still make a difference?

I've learned that purpose isn't always tied to a position, a title, or a uniform.
God has a way of opening new doors in seasons we didn't expect.
This season looks different than the last one—and I'm grateful for it.
I'm still learning. Still serving. Still growing.

Retirement closed one chapter. It didn't close my story.

Life insurance isn’t just about getting a policy — it’s about understanding what you have.

Before you purchase life insurance, take the time to understand what you’re protecting, how much coverage you have, who your beneficiary is, what type of policy you have, and what happens if your life circumstances change.

These details matter.

Your coverage should make sense for your life, your responsibilities, and your goals.

If you already have life insurance, this is also a great reminder to take a look at your current coverage and make sure you understand what you have.

FROM SERVING MY COUNTRY TO SERVING MY COMMUNITY

For a long time, I understood service through the lens of the military.
You have a mission.
You have a team.
You have people depending on you.

Today, service looks different.
It looks like serving God.
Serving my family.
Showing up for my community.
Helping people navigate important decisions.

I'm grateful that retirement didn't mean the end of service. It simply gave me an opportunity to discover what service looks like in this season.
The mission changed. The purpose didn't.

SERVICE DIDN'T END WHEN I TOOK OFF THE UNIFORM.

For 21 years, serving my country was a major part of my life.
Retirement changed my uniform. It changed my schedule. It changed what my everyday life looked like. But it didn't change my desire to serve.

My faith has given me a different understanding of service in this season of my life. Today, I'm blessed to serve my family, my church, my community, and the people I encounter through this new chapter of my career.

The uniform may be behind me, but the heart of service isn't.
Different season. Same heart to serve.

Had a client text me a picture of their car after a hailstorm a while back — completely caved in on one side. They were stressed, obviously. But because they actually had the right coverage in place, the whole thing got handled without it wrecking their finances too.

That's the whole point of what I do. Not selling a policy — making sure that when life throws something at you, you're not also dealing with a financial gut punch on top of it.

That's it. That's the post.

This summer heat is no joke right now!

Quick reminder that extreme heat is hard on your car — tire blowouts go up, batteries die faster, overheating becomes way more common. None of that is exactly fun to deal with on the side of the highway.

Keep an eye on your tire pressure and battery this summer. And if you're ever unsure whether something's covered, that's an easy text away.
